The Panditarama Sydney Meditation Centre (PSMC) was established in 2000 by our Venerable Sayadaw U Panditabhivamsa of Panditarama Shwe Taungone Meditation Centre of Yangon to contribute the experience of Dhamma to meditators (yogis).
It is one of the Buddhist meditation institutions in Sydney and it is open all year round.
The main objectives are to enable both Asian and Western YOGIS to practise meditation and spread the Buddha Sasana or dispensation in Australia. Read more »
With the support of Dhamma friends, we relocated to the new premises, 70 Market Street, Smithfield, on March 2008.

We have brought Buddha Image which is approximately 7-feet and 9-inches in height from Yangon, Myanmar and it is currenlty placed at meditation centre. So we would like to announce that all our Dhamma friends are welcomed to come and make a wish. View Buddha Image gallery
To nurture and raise a new generation for Sasana, Sayadaw U Pannathami is conducting the Buddhist Cultural Training Course every Sunday from 6th August 2006 and it is a great chance for adults and children. It is definitely free of charge and why thinking? Send your children to Sunday School.
We have regular meditation classes, Dhamma talk, various Buddhist celebrations, and plan to build a new centre. This centre is run on the basis of Sayadaw U Pannathami’s support and donations. So, kind and generous people are requested every year to contribute donations to the centre. More>>

Easter Meditation Retreat Notice (10th Apr - 13th Apr)
As Easter holidays approaching, the centre will conduct four days meditation retreat from 10th April to 13th April, 2009.
This is the first retreat conducted in 2009 calendar year, an annual activity of the centre. The centre’s aim is to promote the teaching of Theravada Buddhism particularly the practice of Satipatthana Vipassana meditation in the tradition of Mahasi Sayadaw of Burma.
We accept any meditators worldwide and provide them with food and lodging free of charge in addition to lectures on Vipassana meditation. We warmly welcome any Dhamma friends, Buddhist or non- Buddhist who want to experience the Dhamma.
The meditators or Yogis are required to keep 8 precepts throughout the meditation period.
Buddha said: “Though one should live a hundred years, without understanding mind and body, yet better, indeed, is the single day’s life of one who is wise and meditative”.
The registration is open to everyone and if you are interested, please contact our meditation centre on +61 2 9729 2343 or you can reach U Htun Win at 9726 0984. You can also contact us through our web enquiry form.
